Progress Report on Olympic Knitting

I love, love, love my sweater. I wove in the last end on Thursday and I've worn it twice in the 4 days it's been finished. Sadly, the yarn is discontinued, Lana Grossa Klimatika, a soft wool-cotton blend sport weight yarn. I will find solace in the 3 additional sweaters-worth hanging out in my stash, purchased from elann on clearance ages ago. The sweater went in time out a few times during the year-plus I worked on it, mostly from tired hands and not from a lack of interest in the sweater.

Usually I'm a process knitter, large pile of WIP's to prove that fact, but for this sweater it was all about the finished item. I wanted this sweater from the first swatch. This is something that will be in my closet until it falls apart many, many, many years from now.

The socks are nice, I'm wearing them right now. I love Lorna's Laces Shepherd Sock, the socks stay so nice looking for a long while. I finished the first sock a couple of months ago and promptly cast on the second sock then put them away. I didn't write down any of the usual info as I went along because I just knew that I'd finish right away. As a result of my tempting fate, I had to rip out the second sock from the toe all the way back to the gusset because I mis-counted how many stitches to pick up for the gusset and it took trying on the sock to realize my folly.

That leaves my final Olympic project - the giant granny square blanket.  No pics today that will be the next post.
